Bryan Stiles

Bryan is a coach and mentor with broad experience in developing markets and working with local executives managing in an international context. In his 30-year career with HSBC, during which he operated at major subsidiary Board level, he supported colleagues in internalising newly learned skills through applied development plans, and in translating strategies into action with a particular focus on the cross-cultural dimensions. He has nurtured talent in China (5 years), Hong Kong (8 years), Indonesia (3 years), Dubai (5 years) as well as in several other locations. He has coached individuals in the public and private sectors including financial services, the NHS, the military and creative/technology businesses.

In his coaching Bryan primarily uses a behavioural approach. Starting from the point that the client may benefit from developing competences, he helps increase the client’s awareness of reality, including the internal and external obstacles to achieving their goals, including working around limiting beliefs. Bryan is also an experienced facilitator and has delivered a number of Consultative Sales and Advanced Negotiation Skills programmes for leading commercial banks in the UK and Europe.

Bryan has a Degree in Oriental Studies (Chinese) from Cambridge University, an Advanced Certificate in Executive Coaching (accredited by Bristol Business School), a Certificate in Executive Coaching and Leadership Mentoring from the Institute of Leadership and Management (post-graduate level) and is an Associate of both the London Institute of Financial Services and the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Bryan is married with four children and currently serves as a governor of Sir Thomas Rich’s Grammar School in Gloucestershire.
